Welcome To My Art Space

Fabric art is my passion. My interest in fabric started as clothes construction then progressed to quiltmaking-craftsmanship. Now for me it's a medium of creative expression.

BLACKBIRDS HAVE AN EERIE BEAUTY TO THEIR DARKNESS

My BLACK BIRD BLUE DAY quilted wall hanging measures 24"x 24". There is double machine quilting in this piece to accentuate lines. This piece was juried into the Art Quilts XIV show at the Chandler Center for the Arts and the Arizona Designer Craftsmen 2010 show at the Mesa Arts Center.

RAVEN

Southwestern raven at sunset with ironwood trees. This quilt wall hanging measures 25"x 28". It was juried into a show at the Prescott Fine Arts Gallery.

BLACK BIRD FLY AWAY

This wall hanging quilt measures 23"x 24". My mother's crochet work I incorporated into the center.

STAR VEST

This vest I made for myself using fabric that I layered and cut for a chenille effect. Front and back are shown.

PANSY QUILT

This is the largest quilt I've made so far, 93"x 105". I did it by hand and machine for daughter Melanie and her family. Detail shots are also shown.

HUSBAND FRANK, 2005

Frank's portrait, 11"x14", was done in cloth from a drawing I did of him. It has hand and machine stitching. Any of the posts on my blog can be viewed closer by clicking directly on the pictures.

AMISH

The solid colors and straight lines in this wall hanging, 47"x53", remind me of Amish designs except for the contrasting 3 dimentional heart; that I made from floral fabric. The Amish didn't use printed fabrics. I call it `Syncopated Serendipity'. It is all hand quilted.
