CHANDLER CENTER ART QUILTS XIX

My piece titled DREAM JOURNEY was juried into the gallery show at Chandler Center for the Arts, Nov. 7, 2014 thru Jan. 17, 2015 in Chandler, AZ. The art quilt measures 32''x22''. It is a fantasy piece about a turtle who is slow enough to know which way the wind is blowing as 2 good cat friends, that protect each other from any snakes in the grass, travel thru a flower land.

 

SAQA AUCTION, 2014

My donation to the SAQA AUCTION 2014 is titled ROSES, RAVEN, YIN, YANG. It is a 12'' square and shows opposing ideas that interest me. The Auction will be held online at saqa.com during the week of Sept. 22-27. All the proceeds go to our art organization to promote art quilts. You can locate my piece on page 2, 4 rows down.

RAVEN, RAINBOW, YIN YANG

This piece is traveling with the SAQA(Studio Art Quilt Associates) Trunk Show 2014. It is 7''x10''  as are all the art quilts in this show. It is part of a series I'm doing on the Asian idea of Yin Yang.

BIRDS, BLOOMS and BUGS-AIRPORT SHOW

My 'BLACKBIRD BLUE DAY' has found a new home from Nov. 2, 2013 thru May 4, 2014. It was accepted at the Phoenix Airport Museum Show-Birds, Blooms and Bugs. It is located in terminal 3, level 2.

IN THE MOONLIGHT

IN THE MOONLIGHT  ( 25'' x 25'' ) was done as part of an on going interest in light, stars and moons.  It has been juried into ART QUILTS XVIII at the Center for the Arts in Chandler, Arizona Nov.1, 2013 thru Jan.18, 2014.

MAGAZINE ARTICLE-FLOCKING BIRDS

This piece titled MY WEDDING  is 30''x 20'' and was done as a reminder of a game we played as young girls when we saw flocks of birds in our neighborhood. Object of the game was to be the first to say 'my wedding' when a large flock flew by because you wanted to have the largest wedding. It brings back nice memories of yesterday. This fabric piece is featured in the Summer 2014 issue of ART QUILTING STUDIO magazine on page 144.

SAQA BENEFIT AUCTION
