Black Oil Blue Day,I
This quilt wall hanging on the 2010 Gulf Oil Spill is 25''x 25''. Our need for oil drives us to desperate places. It reminds me of Moby Dick and terrible consequences for violating nature. This quilt was juried into 2 shows, one at ASU in Sept., 2010, through the Arizona Designer Craftsmen and Art Quilts XV, Nov., 2010- Jan., 2011 at the Chandler, Az Center for the Arts.
Black Oil Blue Day,II
This piece measures 24''x 17'' and is part of my series on the Gulf Oil Spill, 2010. The toxic dispersants used to control the oil made interesting and colorful paterns on the water. This fiber wall hanging was juried into the Arizona Designer Craftsmen Show at Arizona State University, Sept., 2010.
